On March 9, 2026, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) published new guidance related to IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 for extended reality products.

The guidance covers implementation requirements for devices such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality products falling under this standard. In addition, BIS released a separate migration framework to support the transition to IS/IEC 62368-1:2023.

These publications are intended to help stakeholders understand how the revised standard should be applied and how products should move from earlier requirements to the updated compliance framework.
