On 17 February 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued Resolution No. 66, introducing  amendments to existing technical regulations that govern electronic and radio products. These changes primarily affect the certification timelines for hazardous substance restrictions and safety standards for electronic consumer goods.
Extended RoHS Transition Period.
A major highlight of this resolution is the modification of Resolution No. 517 (Technical Regulation on Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Radio-Electronic Products). The implementation transition period has been significantly extended from six months to eighteen months. This extension provides manufacturers with a crucial window to align their supply chains and R&D processes with Uzbekistan’s hazardous substance limits before enforcement begins on 17 February 2027.
